Paws of love, beauty and more adventures together

It was that time of year, holiday adventure time, a whole week of it! Although it had been booked for a while due to the circumstances, we were never sure if our adventure holiday to Corrour would take place. We are glad to say it did, and we were nearly their first visitors post lockdown.

A long scenic drive took us from Yorkshire to Corrour in the Scottish Highlands for a week of adventurous fun, and safe to say this location never disappoints, no matter what the weather has in store. Upon arrival down a country lane, turning the corner, the wow factor still hit us, there it is our little white Scottish cottage, near to a loch, a waterway and surrounded by hills and  munros. For any adventure dog and their human, we 100% think you will love this place!

A little bit of rest and we headed out, Alpha and Bravo were overwhelmed by the excitement of the vast open places to explore, we headed loch side to the stoney sanded beach. Walking along, there was bird wildlife in abundance, Alpha and Bravo were legging it around like mad springers do, full pelt at 100mph! There weren’t interested in the birds, they just ran, sniffed, dug and barked encouragement at myself to keep up with them. The same again when they explored off into the loch and swam, swam and swam.

We had a base scheduled of what we would like to achieve, based on what Alpha, Bravo and myself could manage for the week, it is also completely flexible,  you will need to take other factors into account that are out of your control (weather, injury etc)

On the way up the munro

Alpha and Bravo hit a record number of miles on the pawfit and pitpats that day. The next chapter was sleep, and lots of it!

We kept the whole week for adventure, heading out canoeing over a stunning loch, the wind was a little wild, creating some choppy waters. Alpha stayed on the beach for the second run (there was another human with her), whilst bravo swam out to the canoe, so I picked her up and off we went. Bravo overboard only once, and nearly taking myself with her!

To top the week off we also had plenty of time to go wild swimming, yeah, it was cold, but still warmer than what you think. I love swimming with Alpha and Bravo, they love water and it is so great to swim out with them whilst they swim like seals around me, we don’t have a place where we can all swim together at home so this is a special experience for me whenever we go.

Eventually it all came to a close, we honestly had a great adventure week, definitely sad to leave.  We can’t wait to return to the highlands!
